Additional Information & Product Application/Usage

Product Usage & Application

Cryptoria lists intended usage information on each product page. When a product marketed as eyeshadow contains colorants not approved for eyes, the product page will mention the details as provided by the manufacturer. When such information is not available, the product will be declared a pigment palette and advise some colors are not approved for eye use in the USA (Usually due to the possibility of staining or increased risk of allergic reaction in the sensitive eye area).

Cryptoria handcrafted goods are created in accordance with FDA regulations.

If Cryptoria is not the manufacturer, the product may contain colorants not approved for eyes in the USA, but approved for eye use in other countries.

Pigment Palette Lip Usage - If a product contains: Ferric Ferrocyanide, Ultramarines, or Chromium Oxide Greens, then it is not approved for lip use in the USA.

What are pigment or mixed-use palettes?

Pigment palettes have certain colors designated for eye use and certain colors designated for face/lips. The colors are usually sorted by use on the packaging. If the manufacturer does not specify the which colors are approved for eyes in the USA, Cryptoria will list the entire palette for lip and/or face usage. These palettes are distributed internationally where different regulations apply, such as the E.U. Hence, Cryptoria may rename an eyeshadow to pigment for US customers, but that may not be necessary outside the USA.
